Hydraulic Fracturing, or fracking, is a technique to retrieve natural gas or petroleum in which the bedrock formations are fractured by pumping high-pressure fluid into a well. It is a controversial drilling method, with proponents pointing to the high demand for energy and those opposed citing the many environmental concerns.
