We begin by anchoring ourselves in the breath, paying close attention to its presence as it flows through the body. This serves as a foundation for our practice, providing us with stability and calm as we delve into our emotions. By holding space for the emotions that arise, we begin to explore how these feelings manifest in our bodies and thoughts.
The practice encourages us to use mindful phrases such as “I am experiencing anxiety” or “I am experiencing anger” to separate the self from the emotion. This shift in perspective allows us to observe our emotional responses without becoming entangled in them.
As we breathe into the areas of the body holding onto these emotions, we work to release tension and let go of any attachment to the experience. This gentle process allows us to foster compassion for ourselves and others.
By the end of the session, you may find yourself more at ease and centered, having explored your emotions in a supportive and understanding space. This meditation is an opportunity to learn how to recognize and release emotions in a healthy and mindful way.
