Embracing the Energy of the Earth: A BIPOC Meditation for Grounding and Connecting

In this episode, Jyothi V. Robertson leads a guided meditation session to ground and connect through embracing the energy of the earth. You can listen to the recording of the practice below (24:35).

The session begins with deep breaths to settle into the present moment, followed by bringing awareness to the connection with the earth through the feet. Jyothi guides listeners to draw energy from the earth, allowing it to flow through the body, releasing tension and tightness in muscles, and finding support and grounding.

The meditation also focuses on the quality of breath and sensations in the body, encouraging a gentle return to the breath and connection with the earth whenever distractions arise.  The practice includes moments of silence to experience the breath and being held by the earth and ends with a gratitude offering.

The session concludes with a visualization of embracing the warmth and energy of the earth, offering gratitude for oneself, the community of practice, and the earth. This meditation is a powerful tool for people to release stress, practice self-care, and find peace in the present moment.

About the JYO BIPOC Meditation Gathering

The Journey You Own BIPOC Meditation Gathering is a group meditation session specifically designed for individuals who identify as BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color). In these sessions, individuals can connect with others who share similar experiences, create a sense of community, and support each other in their meditation practice.

The JYO BIPOC meditation gatherings provide a unique space for BIPOC individuals to prioritize their mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being, and to honor their identities and experiences within the practice of meditation. Through these sessions, our aim is to create a safe and supportive space for BIPOC individuals to practice meditation together.
